XO is a fitness app that provides users a personalized and convenient way to reach their fitness goals. The app will allow users to track their workouts, set and track progress toward specific goals, and access a variety of workout routines and instructional videos.
Background
As soon as I downloaded a fitness app, I was excited to start my journey toward a healthier lifestyle. However, my excitement quickly turned to frustration as I struggled to navigate the app. I tried multiple apps, but each one seemed to have its own set of problems. The user interface was cluttered and confusing, with labels that were not clear and concise. It wasn't easy to understand how to use the various features and track my progress. I persisted, determined to make the app work for me. But as I continued to use it, I found myself constantly running into problems. The navigation was complicated and it was difficult to understand the data that was being presented to me.
Problem Statement
Helping users understand and stay on track with their fitness goals effectively.
Problem
Complex or confusing navigation: If the app is difficult to navigate, it can be frustrating for users and discourage them from using the app.
Poor design: If the app has a cluttered or poorly designed user interface, it can be difficult for users to find the information they need or use the app effectively
Unclear labels and explanations: Users may not understand the data being presented in the app because the labels or explanations are not clear and concise
Lacks visual aids: Lack of visual elements, such as graphs and charts, to help users quickly and easily understand their progress.
Into the Design Process
Primary Research
Conducted user research to understand the needs and challenges of individuals looking to reach their fitness goals. This involved conducting surveys and user interviews.
Objective
to understand how users currently interact with fitness apps.
to understand the user personas and delve into the pains they have going through the current apps and how the design solution could add value to their lives.
to empathize with how they respond to the current scenario and if they are aware of the problem.3. UX/UI Optimization

Solution
XO is a fitness app that provides users a personalized and convenient way to reach their fitness goals. The app will allow users to track their workouts, set and track progress toward specific goals, and access a variety of workout routines and instructional videos.
Clear and concise labels or explanations for each piece of data in the app.
Additional resources or tutorials to help users understand and interpret the data.
Visual elements, such as graphs or charts, help users quickly and easily understand the data.
Information Architecture
Creating an Information Architecture for the app helped me to get an idea about how the data is structured in-app. To know what to include and when to include I make information architecture and think about how to structure the data.
Wireframes
I drew out some possible screen designs when I initially started working on the design problem, taking into consideration all the user insights, so that the solutions I come up with will be user-friendly.
High-Fidelity Designs and Solution Breakdown
The user interface is designed for ease of use, with a clean and modern design that helps users track workouts and progress. It includes features to keep users motivated and on track with their fitness goals.
Onboarding
The onboarding screen is designed to help users get accustomed to the app and its features so that they do not have difficulty navigating and using the app when they first start using it.
Homescreen
The home screen is the first and most important thing that users see when they open the app. It is meant to provide a quick overview of all the workouts available, as well as a way for users to track their progress.1. At the top of the screen, users can view a summary of their weekly workouts, including completed, skipped, and upcoming workouts. This helps them track their progress and stay motivated.2. Users can filter workout options and choose their preferred workout on the home screen. This allows them to customize their fitness journey and reach their goals.
Workout
The workout screen is designed to help users stay on track with their fitness routines and make progress toward their goals. Each workout includes information such as the number of exercises, the time required, and several calories burned. On the workout screen, users can easily access and view their daily workout tasks. They can navigate to the workout video for a more in-depth explanation and demonstration of each exercise. The resting screen displays the next upcoming workouts and provides tips and guidelines for recovery.
Statistics
The statistics screen is designed to provide users with a detailed analysis of their fitness progress and performance. It displays various metrics and data points, such as the number of workouts completed, the total steps covered, and the total energy expended. The statistics screen includes visual representations of the data it displays, such as graphs and charts, which allow users to see their progress over time and identify trends or patterns in their metrics, such as steps, weight, and energy expended. This helps users understand their fitness journey and make informed decisions about their training.
Profile
The profile screen is designed to provide users with a centralized location to view and manage their personal information and settings. It includes a variety of options and features, such as the ability to view and update their profile picture, change their password, and adjust notification settings.
